A training camp week

Hello folks,

So to keep with my word. I'm trying to keep this site updated Once or Twice a week until the Race in June of 07. I have not posted one for this week :)

This week I've taken some time to travel back East to Maine to see my folks and enjoy the great weather they have been having. I have not let my training go by the wayside however.

I've been able to run from the lake house for a good 4-5 miles every other day up some nasty steady hills. Not used to seeing these in Chicago. I was hoping that they would flatten out the next time I ran however that was NOT the case. I guess it can only make one stronger correct? I also was able to do an open water swim in Lake sebago. My mother was kind enough to be my lead out Kayak as he paddled along side me so that I would not be hit by a jet ski! The water was perfect. Temps in the mid to low 70's for the water and no wind. Calm waters. It was great to swim and not see lane lines or taste chemicals too. I was actually seeing some pretty large fish chilling under some large rocks and a few that made a home under my folks boat on the lake too.

While home I was thinking that it would be great to try and get a Triahtlon of an Olympic distance and a sprint in the Sebago Lake are. The roads are prefect, the water is great and clean like Coeur D'alene and you can have a tough run course on some rolling hills. So keep your eyes and ears open as I might wish to talk with a few people and see if this is possible.

Well I have to run and head to the airport now. 3 hours prior to my take off, since all of yesterdays findings. Then it is back to the heat and humidity of the Chicagoland area and some flat running terrain :(

Thanks again to all those that are reading this and passing it along to friends. Also for the well wishes and comments of how crazy I am for wanting to do this race :)

The best part of this is you can never say how crazy I am. Now my goal seems pretty normal and relatively easy :) Good training to you...
